Overview | Ride Across Algarve Cycling Challenge

The Ride Across Algarve is an amateur stage cycling challenge through the best roads of the Algarve, organised by Podium Events in partnership with the UCI Pro Series competition Volta ao Algarve.

Each year, Volta ao Algarve marks the world cycling calendar, as one of the first stage events held in Europe. The good weather and the 5 challenging stages with balanced profiles between the mountain and the flatter roads attract the Continental and the World Pro Tour main teams and cyclists to this professional competition.

Lance Armstrong, Fabian Cancelara, Alberto Contador, Tom Boonen, Gerainth Thomas, Vicenzo Nibali, Alexander Kristoff, Daniel Martin,  Michal Kwiatkowski, Rohan Dennis, Philippe Gilbert and Remco Evenepoel are some of the cyclists of the Wall of fame of Tour of Algarve the last five Editions.

The less stress lived by riders and teams on the beginning of the season and the portuguese special touch provides Volta ao Algarve with a very special Spirit and a friendly ambiance that allows a proximity to cyclists that is very difficult to experience on another occasion throughout the year.

This partnership allows participants in Ride Across Algarve to enjoy a stage event designed especially for cycling amateurs, and living it inside a Pro Series Competition while sharing this experience with the Pro Tour and the Continental main teams and riders present on Volta ao Algarve.

Ride Across Portugal's concept was adapted on Ride Across Algarve to discover some of the best Algarve sceneries.

The perfect mix between sport, and local culture and gastronomy.

The best hotels and the premium services. Support vehicles, transfers, massage, mechanic and medical assistance provided by a professional team that's also responsible for the Tour of Portugal's organisation.
